Cricket Jersey (Facebook Application)
Based on the learning’s shared in the previous blog post, @designerkamal and me have launched another application.

No rocket science in this one either. The concept too is not new…
A similar application for Football Jerseys became very popular last year during the FIFA World Cup. What’s important is the Timing and the Execution.
The ‘timing’ seems apt, as we launched the app with 25 days to go to the World Cup. The execution, well that’s for you to decide. We’ve again kept it really simple and idiot proof.
You can choose between most of the countries participating in the World Cup. We are in the process of adding all the countries. We are adding some more cool features to the app…especially related to showing stats and pitching one nation against the other. The comment stream is also building up some healthy debate, especially between India and Pakistan!
What do we plan to achieve out of this?
Well we wanted to see if we could viral an application in a country other than India. In 2 days we’ve already got visits from 56 countries with a considerable chunk of traffic coming from Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh!
We’ve received 4,000 unique visits and 300 fans in a little more than 24 hours of the app going live! Hoping to get at least 500,000 users by the end of the World Cup and then we’ll have some fun during the IPL!
500 people have already made the image rendered their Profile picture on Facebook!
The 5 most popular jersey numbers being selected are: 99 (Default), 10, 7, 1 & 9.
