Google Pages for Brands

Having a Facebook page has almost become more important than having a microsite / brand site these days.

Brands are heavily advertising their Fan Pages across mediums and at the same time pumping money into facebook for Fan acquisition too. Things couldn’t be better for FB. Firstly the brand is spending money on outdoor, print, tv etc to get people on to Facebook and then they are spending money on Facebook to get them to ‘like’ their page.

Well I guess it’s about time Google comes up with ‘Google Pages’ for Brands.
A one point location which a brand can customise.

A simple setup can be a drag n drop interface where the brand can choose to sync and display their FB, Twitter, Youtube, Blog, Flickr streams.

Apart from that the brand should be able to add other links to promos / activities etc.

Status updates which a brand can make - Mainly they should look at relevant updates which help the brand.

Probably add a live ‘Chat with the brand’ tool…
Syncing with blog search should also auto display all the ‘positive buzz’ being written about the brand. Brand can choose to display the negative buzz too because often a good-tackle of a negative situation can have a really good positive overall effect.

This page will by default be the first search result when a user keys in anything related to the brand. Just a matter of time before this happens.
